Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most commonly utilized kinds of crane in the construction business. They are used to make everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to buildings and skyscrapers.
Cranes come in a wide variety of units, sizes and styles. These various models allow the owner and operators to perform many more functions within their business. Choosing the right kind of crane is very crucial for making certain that the material can be safely and efficiently moved to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to commence.
Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are extremely helpful for building sites where a crane is required in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane is capable of being easily driven from one location to another.
Cranes can also be transported to various construction sites on the road as they drive themselves, that eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport expenses at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane could handle. Therefore, in order to fix this problem, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature big tracks on the bottom of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction equipment like backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks enable the crane to successfully move around a construction site.
