Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run utilizing liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
So as to prevent possible serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
