Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Some forklifts are specially made to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These models are known as narrow aisle forklifts. They can negotiate smaller aisles with ease and allow you to enjoy some benefits. For example, the increased amount of space to store objects can significantly increase a company's overall available stock.
Narrow aisle lift trucks could maneuver easily also. These equipment have been specifically engineered to move without much space. Their different design has eliminated many of the items which are squished up into the main body of the traditional lift truck design.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle forklifts is that they are very slow in comparison to standard forklifts. Narrow aisle forklifts would not work if you have to transport items across long distances. When it comes to speed they would not be a reliable option. If you also have a regular lift truck, this will not be an issue. You could just use the narrow aisle forklift to transport the load to a central location and then hand it off to a regular lift truck which can travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely way. Usually, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; therefore, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be very helpful.
Electric Forklifts
For indoor use like stores or in warehouses, conventional gas lift trucks are not a suitable alternative. They will not be as safe because of their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful than an electric powered model. Electric forklifts are often designed to function and look a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries that must be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered lift truck has become more popular and for a variety of reasons. These machinery could help businesses save expenses on fuel. Electric units will first cost more, but will ultimately save you more over time. For instance, when gas prices go up, you would not be affected and will save a lot of cash. Electric units tend to last somewhat a bit longer than gas powered models also. This is partly due to the fact they are mainly utilized inside and therefore don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric models are healthier to use in places which are poorly ventilated such as indoor operations and warehouses as they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be extremely dangerous to utilize gas or diesel forklifts indoors.
The electric forklift does have some disadvantages like the fact that they can really only work for approximately 8 hours. Afterward the machinery would need to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. Many businesses get around this condition by buying an extra battery so they could continually cycle them and have less downtime. There are fast charge batteries emerging on the market that are also minimizing the charging time.
