Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they transport cargo. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads with these machines. A rider might be the best answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of moving loads from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specially made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can function in smaller aisles. They are extremely useful pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
