A lift truck is an essential piece of machinery in the material handling industry. Also referred to as a powered industrial truck, a lift truck is used to lift and move materials from one location to another. These types of trucks transformed the warehousing and the manufacturing businesses. These days they are utilized for a wide range of applications and are considered to be vital for material handling.

The forklift needs an operator who uses the control levers to move loads and materials around the worksite, usually a warehouse or factory. Companies that own their own lift trucks should maintain the machinery to make sure they have a long lifespan. Forklift parts, like any machine parts, are prone to wear and tear and would become worn over time. In order to make sure the forklift works efficiently and safely, you will need to replace damaged or worn parts occasionally. Each forklift truck component is made for a specific purpose. Below is a list of some lift truck attachments and their tasks:

Forklift Fork Positioner: The forklift fork positioner is a hydraulic attachment which helps to position the forks. It can move the forks either simultaneously or separately. Without the forklift fork positioner, the operator of the lift truck must manually adjust forklift forks for different sizes of loads.

Side Shifter: The side shifter is a hydraulic attachment which enables the lift truck operator to laterally shift both the backrest and the forklift forks. This type of attachment makes it really easier to position the cargo without having to change the position of the truck.

Pole Attachments: These long metal poles are designed to carry carpet rolls. The poles work better for this purpose compared to forklift forks.

Telescopic Forklift Forks: Telescopic forklift forks are hydraulic attachments that enables the operator to unload and load from a single side by handling two pallets of various sizes at the same time. This particular attachment is great for handling pallets in 'double deep racking'.
