Among the biggest reasons is to avoid possibility of lawsuits if somebody is hurt. Secondly, mishaps cut down on working time. Thirdly, property and merchandise can be damaged during accidents. The majority of mishaps are attributed to employees who are not correctly trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all staff who are using the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a visible place all forklift safety procedures.
Workers must have a positive attitude when they go through training, instead of doing it just because they are required to. You as the employer should help workers know the significance of proper training. Let them realize that they can kill or injure not just themselves, but other individuals, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your staff go through training seriously.
